Congratulations to manager Michael Dargan of Killeshin FC on winning the manager of the year award at the 2012 Carlow and District Football League awards night. The club also won two player of the year awards with Liam ‘Bangy’ Dowling winning the seniors, over 35s, best player and Michael McCartney was the Whites Pharmacy division player of the year. Well done and well deserved from all club members and supporters.

The club will hold our own awards night on Saturday May 26 in the Mall. Kick-off at 8.30pm and food will be served on the night and all players, partners, parents and supporters are welcome as we finish off the season in style. 


Next Saturday, May 26, 53 children from St Fiacc’s NS will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation at 11am in St Clare’s Church. Two children will also commit themselves to their faith as they journey into their teenage years and move into secondary school. Confirmation for the children of Killeshin NS will take place on Saturday June 2 at 11am. Please note there will be no 10am mass next Saturday in St Clare’s Church.


There is a meeting on next Thursday, May 24 at 8pm in the parish centre.


The third annual mountain walk in aid of the Carlow Hospice this year to Mount Leinster takes place on Sunday May 27 starting from the Nine Stones at 9.30am. Carlow Educate Together NS will be holding their annual open night on Thursday May 24 from 7pm to 8.30pm.

There was no winner of the recent lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 13, 16, 19 and 28. The four lucky dip winners were Paschal Brennan, Danny Doyle, Kathleen Hickey and Colm Fitzgerald each will receive €25 and the sellers prize of €25 was won by Colm Fitzgerald. The jackpot stands at €4300 and tickets cost €2 from all club members and local shop and public houses.


Support group for parents who have lost a baby before, during or after birth are holding their next meeting on this Wednesday night May 23 in the Parish Centre, Graiguecullen at 8pm. This year the babies remembrance mass will take place on Sunday June 24 at 11.30am in St Clare’s Church. If anyone wishes to add a patch to our remembrance quilt this year please design the patch for your baby on a piece of cloth measuring 6” x 6” square. Patches can be handed into the parish centre before June 18.


Bingo is held every Tuesday night at 8.30pm in Graiguecullen Hall. This week’s jackpot is €830 in 41 numbers.
