Durrow/Cullahill Parish Anglers in conjunction with the Woodenbridge Paddlers will hold a family fun day on Sunday May 27 at the Old Bridge Durrow at 2pm. Members will exhibit fly tying and casting techniques along with canoe trips and mini regatta. Bucket collection on day in aid of Durrow community services. Irish Heart Foundation would like to thank all who contributed so generously to their Happy Heart collection in Ballacolla and Clough last weekend. Thanks also to the helpers who agreed to collect.


Judging for the Tidy Towns competition will commence on June 1. Ballacolla Tidy Towns would greatly appreciated if everyone would keep their areas clean and tidy and if any painting which is required is completed.


The monthly meeting of Clough ICA was held on Thursday May 17 in Clough hall. Votes of sympathy were passed with the Byrne families on the death of Christina, also to Kathleen Broderick and Mary Gorman on their recent sad bereavements.

A report on federation meeting in Arles was given by Noreen Byrne. A report on activity day in Portlaoise was given by Sheila Coonan. Guild outing to Athlone was discussed, which is from June 26 to June 28, leaving Clough on 26 at 10am and staying in the Hudson Bay hotel. Names are still being taken. Deposit of €50 will be collected on Monday May 28 in Clough hall at 8pm. Three members will attend Laois week at An Grianan.

It was a lovely display. Raffle winners Maura McEvoy, Sheila Coonan, Kathleen Walsh, Margaret Ryan, Bridget Bergin, Noreen Byrne and Kathleen McEvoy.
