FIRST FRIDAY

Next Friday, August 3 is the First Friday of the month. There will be the usual penitential service during the 10am mass in St Clare’s.

IRIDIUM FOR THE FEAST OF ST CLARE

The Iridium fort the Feast of St Clare will be held in St Clare’s Church as follows: Wednesday and Thursday, August 8 and 9, mass with guest speaker at 7.30pm, Saturday August 11, Feast of St Clare, mass at 10am. Blessing after all masses with First Class Relic of St Clare.

COMMUNION TO THE SICK

Fathers Dunphy and Madden will bring Holy Communion to the sick and housebound on this Tuesday and Wednesday July 31 and August 1.

YOUTH PILGRIMAGE 2012

This year we have two buses with 55 young people travelling. The balance of the payment of €50 should be made to the parish office before next Friday, August 3.

The pilgrimage will take place on Monday and Tuesday, August 13 and 14 and the group will be travelling to Spiddal and Galway. The cost of the pilgrimage is €50 which includes, bus, accommodation in the hostel in Galway, entrance to Leisureland, Salthill, evening meal, breakfast and lunch. We will be celebrating mass in the Poor Clare Convent in Galway. All young people secondary school age and upwards are welcome to join in what we hope will again be a fun filled, rewarding and spiritual experience.

KILLESHIN FC LOTTO

There was no winner of the recent lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 13, 16, 18 and 24. The four lucky dip winners were Seamus Brett, Eugene O’Rourke, Edel Nolan and Neil Ryan and each will receive €25. The seller’s prize of €25 was won by Joe Whelan. The jackpot for next week stands at €5,200 and tickets cost €2 and are available from any club member or in the local shop and public houses.

FINANCE COMMITTEE

Monthly meeting this Wednesday August 1 at 8pm in the parish centre.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD

Sunday school finished last Sunday and will resume on Sunday September 9.

4KM FUN RUN

St Fiacc’s House 4km fun run in conjunction with St Abban’s club will take place on Wednesday August 8. Walk, jog or run. Registration of €5 takes place at 6.30pm in St Fiacc’s House. Sponsor cards available. Spot prizes to be won and also refreshments served.

ST PATS BOYS AFC

Junior (adults – men) and youth teams have commenced training for the forthcoming season. Training sessions take place at the Meadows, Graiguecullen on Sundays at 11am and on Wednesdays and Fridays at 7pm. BINGO

Every Tuesday night at 8.30pm in Graiguecullen Hall. This Week’s jackpot is €830 in 41 numbers.

DAY OF RETREAT

Evergreens day of retreat in St Fiacc’s House on Thursday August 16 from 10.30am to 3.30pm. The cost, €10 includes lunch. Names to be given to the parish office on or before Friday August 10.

GRAIGUECULLEN GAA

Annual field day takes place on Sunday August 19 from 2pm to 6pm. There will be lots of stalls for all to enjoy. See who gets dunked in our dunk tank. Bouncy castles, barrel train and more.

Numbers drawn were 05, 08, 12 and 25. There was no jackpot winner so the next jackpot will be €10,000, reserve €9,400. There were three Match 3 winners of €70 each: Mark Brennan c/o Matthew Power, David Wilson c/o Matthew Power and Eamonn Deere c/o Deanoz. The seller’s prize of €20 each went to June Harte, Clerkin’s and Jim Nelson.

Talk It Over the free and confidential bereavement service wish to announce their new walk in service which is now available at their premises at Talk It Over House Castlehill, Carlow, formerly HSE Offices. CHILDCARE CENTRE

Graiguecullen Parish Childcare Centre is taking enrolments for the free ECCE preschool year for September 2012. There are also reduced rate and sub vented places, (CCS and GETS), in their preschool for the year prior to the ECCE Preschool year. Enrolment forms for Graiguecullen Parish Childcare Centre are now available in the office or can be downloaded from the website.

BRIDGE CLUB

REHAB CARE

IRISH HISTORY LIVE: TITANIC

Michael Moylan returns with his hugely popular interactive history show for kids. This year, experience a unique historical re-enactment of life on board the Titanic. Find out what it was really like to sail on the doomed ship. Booking is required. This takes place in Ballylinan Library on Friday August 24 at 10.30am.
