SOLEMN NOVENA

This is the eighth year to run our Solemn Novena and it begins on Monday, April 8 and will continue for nine consecutive nights. Everyone is invited during Lent to place petitions in the petition boxes in St Clare’s. PENITENTIAL SERVICES

Penitential Services for Lent will take place at all Masses on Weekend of March 9 and March 10. Please note there will be no penitential service at the 10am Mass this Friday, March 1.

K FACTOR

K Factor Talent Competition, qualifying rounds will be held on Saturday, March 2 in Killeshin Hall at 8pm with the doors open at 7.30pm. Check it out on Facebook at killeshingaa.com. Admission; adults €10, child and students €5.

PROPERTY/HOME TAX

A Public Meeting will be held at the Swimming Pool Graiguecullen on Thursday 28 Febuary at 8pm. The meeting is being hosted by Sinn Fein TD Brian Staney. All are welcome to attend.

KILLESHIN FC LOTTO

There was no winner of the recent lotto jackpot. The numbers drawn were 22, 24, 26 and 27. The four lucky dip winners were Theresa Whelan, Breda McDonald, Paddy McDonald and Liz Maloney, each received €25 and the seller’s prize of €25 was won by Jim Reddy. The Jackpot now stands at €8,300 and tickets can be purchased for €2 from any club member or the local shop and public houses.

COUNTRY MARKET

The Country Market Graiguecullen opposite Aldi. Jewellery and Card making courses on Saturday, March 2 and Saturday, March 9 from 10 to 11am. All materials and tools supplied. Jewellery course costs €10 and card making course costs €5. Contact Siobhan 0857742733.

FASHION SHOW

St Fiacc’s Swimming Club is holding a Fashion Show on Wednesday, March 6 at 8pm in Dínn Rí Hotel, Carlow. Tickets €10 are available on the door or contact Paul Doogue 087 6121666.

PARISH SWIMMING POOl

First Aid course, OFA Fetac Level 5 refresher on March 3.

If you like to become a swimming instructor the course starts 4pm on Friday, March 8 and the minimum age 16 is years.

ST FIACC’S HOUSE

Thank you for all who attended Lenten Lunch in St Fiacc’s House in aid of Fr Brian’s Charity, ALMAS. A total of €290 was raised.

EVERGREEN’S

Evergreens Retreat will take place on Thursday, March 14 in St Fiacc’s House Activity Centre. Cost will be €10. Please give names to Parish Centre.

The annual holiday commences on Monday, June 10 for four nights, five days. The Hotel has been changed to the Four Star Ballymascanlon House Hotel, Dundalk; cost will be €300 per person sharing. Single rooms will be extra and there are a limited number available. Day trips include visits to Armagh, Belfast (Titanic Exhibition), Stormont Castle, Giants Causeway and The Down Coast Anyone travelling should give their names and deposit to the Swimming Pool before Monday, March 4 as the Hotel will only hold rooms until then as there is a limited availability.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY

Children’s Liturgy of the Word takes place on each Sunday at the 11.30am Mass in St Clare’s. We invite all children between four years and first class to join us for our Sunday school.

WOMEN’S PAMPERING DAY

Women’s Pampering Day on Sunday 10 March. Mother’s Day, in St Fiacc’s Hall from 2 to 6pm. Proceeds will go to St Fiacc’s House and the ÉIST Centre. Tickets €10 available from St Fiacc’s House, Parish Centre, Killeshin Stores and Second to None.

THURSDAY MORNING CLUB

Thursday Morning club has resumed after 10am Mass in St Clare’s. Parishioners are invited into the Parish Centre after Mass for a cuppa and a chat.

INDOOR BOWLS

Graiguecullen & District Indoor Bowls now playing on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2pm to 4pm in St Fiacc’s Hall. All ages welcome.

BRIDGE CLUB

Anyone who would like to reflect on the Sunday readings is invited to a half hour meeting each Wednesday at 7.30pm in the Parish Centre.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS

Anyone who would like to become a Eucharistic Minister are asked to give their name to the Parish centre before Monday 11 March. Training will begin after that date.

Holy Hour for all Eucharistic Ministers will take place on Thursday, March 7 at 8pm in the Parish Centre.

CHILDREN’S BOOK COLLECTION

St Fiacc’s Parents Association are organising a sale of second-hand children’s books. If anyone would like to donate good quality books suitable for children aged 5 to 12 years, please drop them into the school before Friday, March 8.

KILLABBAN CHURCH AND GRAVEYARD

A talk on Killabban Church and Graveyard, an early Christian site and medieval settlement, will be given on Wednesday, February 27 at 8pm in Killeen Community Centre.
