Kilminchy EGM

An Extraordinary General Meeting of the Kilminchy Management Company will be held at The Killeshin Hotel on Friday March 15 at 7pm. The EGM has been arranged by a group of residents who intend to pass special resolutions to remove the current directors of KMC Ltd, elect new directors and to put a KMC Ltd committee in place, representing each area in Kilminchy, to work alongside the directors in managing the estate.

Late BRidget Wheeler

Condolences to the family of the late Bridget Wheeler, of Brockera, Ballyfin, Laois who died peacefully in the loving care of the staff in St. Vincent’s Hospital, Mountmellick. Deeply regretted by her sons John and Jerry, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Removal last Friday, from St Vincent’s Hospital Chapel from 4pm to St. Fintain’s Church, Ballyfin. Requiem Mass on Saturday with funeral afterwards to St. Fintain’s Cemetery.

Relics of Don Bosco

Visit of the Relics of Don Bosco to Parish Church, Tuesday, February 26, 2.30pm to Wednesday, February 27 8.30am. In association with the 200th anniversary of his birth, the Salesians have embarked on a world wide tour with the reliquary of their founder – St John Bosco (born 1815). We are fortunate in Portlaoise that, mass will be celebrated at 7.30pm, midnight, 7.30am. Departure 8.30am. The church will remain open during the visit.


Table quiz in aid of the Gaelscoil Phortlaoise parents council will take place on Thursday, February 28 at 9pm in Grellan Delaneys Portlaoise. Entry is €10 per person, all welcome a fun night to be had by all with a raffle and prizes also on the night. Only one round will be as gaeilge and tables can be put together on the night, so don’t worry if you don’t have a full team.

Portlaoise Singers will hold a concert in aid of the Cuisle Centre, ARCH Club and the Lions Club on Sunday, March 10 at 8pm in the Heritage Hotel, Portlaoise.
