NEW TOILETS AT PLAYGROUND AND ACTIVITY PARK
Construction has commenced on the provision of the much needed toilets, disability toilet and changing facilities at the Children’s Playground at The Green, Stradbally recently. The new toilets are situated at the rear of the Cosby Cottages, which are listed protected structures. Casey Bros Builders, Stradbally were awarded the contract for the construction. As part the contract the Cosby Cottages are to be refurbished and provision will be made for the installation of lighting and CCTV cameras at a future date.
The committee would like to thank Stradbally ICA Guild for their co-operation and goodwill in bringing this project to fruition, and regret any inconvenience caused to the users of the playground during the construction period which will take approximately eight weeks.

The organisers of the 49th National Steam Rally being held in Stradbally, County Laois on Sunday 4 and Monday 5 August 2013 are looking forward to another great event. Admission price €10. Children (under 12) free. 10am to 6pm each day.

LAOIS WALKS FESTIVAL
The festival is running until July 31. This is the Year of the Gathering and organisers are delighted to invite all to walk with visiting French walkers from July 18 to July 21. Clopook cemetery mass will be held on Thursday, August 1 commencing at 7.30pm.
A benefit night in aid of Tullamore Oncology/Haematology Unit will be held on Friday, July 26 in Bergins, of Timahoe. Numerous spot prizes on the night, also raffle. There will be a donation box for anyone who wishes to give a donation on the night. Your support would be greatly appreciated for this very worthy cause.
VICARSTOWN CEMETERY MASS
The amount of €1,294 was raised at the recent cemetery mass. Thanks to everyone for their continued support.
YOUTH 2000 SUMMER FESTIVAL
A reminder that the Youth 2000 Summer Festival will be held from August 15 - 18 in the Cistercian College, Roscrea. This festival is or young people aged 16-35, and will include inspiring talks, workshops, dramas, concerts, prayer, mass and times of sharing.
