LATE MICHAEL DUNNE

The death occurred on Saturday, September 14 of Michael (Mick) Dunne, Moyanna, Vicarstown. He is deeply regretted by his loving wife Lil, son Michael, daughters Catherine, Nuala and Angela, daughter-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives and a large circle of friends. His remains were reposing at his daughter Catherine’s residence in Moyanna until removal to the Church of the Assumption, Vicarstown and following funeral mass on Monday burial took place immediately afterwards in Moyanna Cemetery.

ANGLERS CLUB

Stradbally Anglers Club will hold a juvenile meeting on Monday, October 7 in St Mary’s Hall commencing at 7pm sharp to form a juvenile club for 2014. All juveniles attending must be accompanied by a senior. The meeting will be hosted by Owen Buggy. The club would like to congratulate Owen on coming second in the World Juvenile Fly Fishing Championships, a great achievement indeed.

COMMUNITY GARDEN

The Community Garden For All Abilities are running a garden workshop on October 1 from 9.30am to 12.30pm and October 3 from 9.30am to 12.30pm, at their garden in The Green. They have a professional gardener/tutor giving the classes. Places are limited. The workshop is funded by the Communiy Garden and they would appreciate if participants would donate a small portion of their free time to their garden project in return. STEAM TRAIN RIDES

The Irish Steam Preservation Society’s Narrow Gauge Railway is running September 28/29 from 1pm until 4pm each day.

OFF TO THE DOGS

Timahoe National School are holding a race night in Newbridge Greyhound Stadium on Friday, September 27. The fundraiser is to properly fit out the new classroom extension. Tickets are €15 and can be purchased in the Timahoe National School or by contacting 087 7443824. There will be a raffle on the night with lots of prizes.
