Jigs & Reels
Portarlington Community Development Assoc/Love Port and Port Meals on Wheels are running a jigs and reels event in the Heritage Hotel Killenard on Sunday October 27 (Bank Holiday). Best dancing talent from the town representing our clubs and associations are being trained this past month by the lovely Kara Burbage. A great night’s entertainment is guaranteed. Tickets available shortly from the PCDA/Love Port office Oriel House Main Street, or any committee members from both groups, and also from the dancers who are taking part. The Brittas Mass
The Brittas Mass comes to Portarlington on Sunday October 6 at 12.15pm in St Michael’s Church. Portarlington Folk Choir will be joined by the Clonaslee Community Choir and our own Tom Conroy who has composed The Brittas Mass. All are welcome to join in this celebration of the eucharist.
St Michaels AC Seniors

Deepest sympathy to the McGuinness family, St Joseph’s Tce on the sudden death of Carmel (nee Collins). Carmel will be sadly missed by her loving husband Mick, her sons Declan and Michael, daughter Anne, grandchildren and all her extended family and friends. Requiem mass took place on Friday September 13 at St Michael’s Church, with burial after in St Michael’s Cemetery.
Condolences to the family of Gavin Keegan Botley Lane who died suddenly on Friday September 13. Gavin will be sadly missed by his loving parents Mick and Maisie, his sisters Martina and Denise and his brothers Thomas and Ivan, also his extended family and friends. Portarlington Youth Club reopened on Wednesday September 18. The club has been established for 8 years and is run from the Catholic Club, Main Street, Portarlington. This is an all inclusive club for 12 – 18 year olds which runs from September to May each year. The club is on every Wednesday from 7.30pm until 9.30pm.
