A series of five information evenings entitled ‘Gatekeepers: Community Mental Health Promotion Programme’ will be taking place in Portlaoise next month starting on Tuesday October 8 at 7.30pm.

A series of five information evenings entitled ‘Gatekeepers: Community Mental Health Promotion Programme’ will be taking place in Portlaoise next month starting on Tuesday October 8 at 7.30pm.

The talks aim to raise awareness about mental wellbeing in the community. Each evening will cover a different topic related to positive mental health with talks from guest speakers. The talks will take place on Tuesdays from 7.30pm to 9.30pm in Portlaoise Family Resource Centre, Harpur’s Lane, Portlaoise.

All talks are free and open to the general public. The Gatekeepers Programme is being hosted by GROW in Ireland in partnership with the HSE.

Topics covered will include understanding and promoting positive mental health, stress management: skills for coping with life’s pressures and worries, suicide awareness and prevention, and more. For more contact John Farren at 086 8033126.
