Monthly Dance

The monthly dance will take place in Camross Community Hall on Saturday, December 7. Music by Twice Shy. Free Christmas raffle will take place on the night.


Camross Scouts are holding a Christmas Fare on Friday, December 6 from 2-4pm, Saturday, December 7 and Sunday, December 8 after Mass in the Parish Hall. There will be flowers, gifts, cakes, raffle and lots more. Your support would be appreciated

Active Retirement Group

A meeting will take place in the Community Hall on Wednesday, December 4 at 3pm where we will have a quest speaker at 3.30pm. All active members please attend as recently our numbers have been small at meetings

Church Gate Collection

The recent church gate collection for the active retirement group was a tremendous success at Camross, Killanure and Annatrim Churches. Special thanks to collectors Joan Hegarty, Joan Grady, Hannah Dooley, Joe Dooley, Tim Doran, Peter Nolan, Valarie Handcock & Frank McGlynn. Thanks also to Rev. Fr Lalor & Rector Ian Poultan for allowing us to collect outside the churhes.


Sincere sympathy is extended to Frank McGlynn Derrynaseera on the untimely death of his brother -in-law Leo McGoldrick, Derry, who passed away following a short illness. Sympathy is also extended Ann Dowling, Derrycarrow on the death of her Father Paddy Bergin of Ballyquade, Ballybrophy.

Sympathy is extended to the Molloy family of Tinnakill on the death of Katie Molloy Grattan Street Portlaoise. Anniversary Mass


Congratulations are extended to Camross hurler Dwayne Palmer (youth award) and Camogie player Niamh Dollard who have been honoured by Roscrea Community Awards Scheme for their outstanding displays this year and they become the first ever Camross players to be honoured in 16 years of awards. The presentation ceremony will take place at the Racquet Hall Roscrea on February 28. Dwayne was a member of the Carlow IT team that captured the Leinster Colleges third level league title.

Golden days

Dan Culliton and his wife Margaret were joined by family and friends to celebrate the Golden Jubilee.

The best man Kieran Moore was present but unfortunately the bridesmaid is now in England was unable to make it back. Eilish O’Hara, Mountrath, Dan’s sister the only other member of the family was present with her daughter and the happy couple were joined by their four daughters and only son Michael as well as their grandchildren, relations many neighbours and friends. The ceremonies commenced with Mass in St Fergals Church celebrated by the PP Fr John Lalor and after pictures were recorded the party adjourned to the local Hall for a beautiful meal and later still the celebrations were continued across the road in the Camross Inn, the couple are wished many more years of happiness.
