ST STEPHEN’S DAY FUN RUN/CYCLE
It’s nearly that time of year again folks where you can get the chance to work off those extra Xmas indulgences with our annual fun run/walk and cycle. BallyroanAbbey GAA Club invite walkers, joggers, runners and cyclists to come along and have some fun on St Stephen’s Day with registration from 10am in the community hall.
All the family will be able to take part. Proceedings will start at 11am with a 5k fun run/walk starting in the village and going out the Abbeyleix Road, coming back up the Rock Lane and finishing at the bottom of The Rock.
The cycle will start shortly after the 5k start with the route taking in the Sli na Slainte and there will be refreshments for all in the community hall afterwards.

KIDS & KOFFEE
Ballyroan Playgroup, ‘Kids & Koffee’ takes place every Friday 10am - 12pm in the Ballyroan Community Hall. It costs just €3 per household and all parents, childminders and pre-school children are very welcome. Its a community-run group and a great place to meet and make friends over a cup of tea or beaker of juice. If you’d like to join us, call Kyra on 0860651485, or just come along on Friday.
Congratulations to all at the Ballyroan and Abbeyleix District Athletic Club which was the winner in the Sports and Leisure Secition at the annual Laois Community Forum Community and Voluntary Awards supported by the Leinster Express and Laois Sports Partnership. The club won the award for fostering and encouraging the participants of all ages in healthy activity.
