St Patrick’s Parade
Durrow Development Forum’s St Patrick’s Day parade on Sunday, March 16 at 3pm. Motorized with the exception of HGV’s due to safety reasons. Open air country market on the green from 11am. Family fun day with bouncy castles & kids hurling matches on the green. Details to follow.

Dnmore Community Alert Scheme
The Dunmore Community Alert AGM held in Bobs Bar on Sunday, January 19. Opened by the Chairman Ollie Clooney, it was well attended and marked a very successful first year. The secretary’s report, presented by Gabby Irwin, highlighted notable activies: the first meeting, erecting of signs, the launch night, text alert, summer BBQ & the Halloween fancy dress. The Treasurer’s report was delivered by Alan Gee and distributed. Outgoing committee officers were re-elected as follows; Ollie Clooney Chair, Jim Murphy Vice-Chair, Gabby Irwin Sec, Alan Gee Treas, PJ Phelan – Assist Treas, Shane Curran – PRO. Bernadette Dunne of ‘Task Community Care’ gave a comprehensive account of their seniors alert scheme. Grants are available for the over 65’s through the Department of the Environment covering the cost of a socially monitored alarm installed in your home. The only cost to the individual is TASK’s €66 yearly charge for around the clock monitoring. Those wishing to avail of the scheme can contact a Committee member. A subcommittee was formed to research the process of erecting CCTV at strategic points after unanimous agreement. Submissions on this project to the sub-committee through the Secretary – Gabby Irwin. Annual subscriptions due and can be given to or collected by your street coordinators. Subscription is €20 per household with a further €10 for two numbers on the text alert system.
Cullohill ICA met in the Community Centre last week. Votes of sympathy to families from the area on recent bereavements.
