WORLD SUICIDE PREVENTION DAY

An Ecumenical Service of Remembrance and Hope is on in the Church of the Assumption, Tullamore on Wednesday September 10 at 7:30 pm, to create awareness of suicide prevention, support the bereaved, and give a message of hope. All welcome to stay for refreshments afterwards.

MUSIC CLASSES 

Clonaslee Comhaltas classes begin on Thursday September 11 from 4:15 pm to 8 pm in the Community Centre. A wide variety of instruments taught. €6 per week, open to beginners and advanced, children and adults. All welcome. Call John Conway on 085-285-1772.

PARENTs & TODDLERs

The Baby, Parent and Toddler group meet Tuesday mornings from 9:30 am to 11:30 am during the school term in the Community Centre. Starts Tuesday Sept 9. All welcome. Call Elaine 087-236-2723.

Frankie McRedmond was chosen to represent Ireland for Sheaf Tossing Ireland for the World Championships to be held in Australia this month. Frankie would like to thank everyone who has sponsored him for his upcoming trip. The community wish the best of luck to Frankie and Paddy Dooley who is also competing.

IRISH DANCING

Siobhan Dormer will teach at the Parochial Hall every Tuesday from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. All ages and levels welcome.

ST MANMANS CHOIR

The choir wish Tom Conroy the best of luck in his new venture, thanking him for all his help and teaching. The choir note their privilege in being part of the Bicentenary Choir with Tom.

HOLY CROSS ABBEY

A bus will leave Clonaslee on Thursday Oct 2 at 6 pm for Holy Cross, Tipperary, with pick-up in Rosenallis. Mass will be at 8 pm. Cost is €15 per person. If enough interest, this will be a monthly trip. Names to Máire 087-212-2766.

TIDY TOWNS

National results on September 8. Best of luck to Clonaslee. This voluntary committee have worked hard since May. They thank all FÁS participants and supervisor Patricia Sheed for their great help. Also to all the businesses who kept their premises litter and butt free. Sincere thanks to Pat Fenlon for his trojan work every morning and to all who painted and helped in any way.

A lovely day was had by all, with nice weather. Thanks to Laois Trip’s Brian & Frances, and bus driver Pat Harding.
