Spink ICA

The monthly meeting was held on the 2nd of October and all were welcomed by President Anne Cass. A vote of sympathy was passed with the Cahill families on the dad passing of Helen Cahill RIP. Minutes were read and all activities were discussed. All members enjoyed the celebrations on the occasion of the Guilds 30th anniversary during the summer. The Guild has gained two new members. Members attended the Dysart Group meeting in Sue Ryder House, Portlaoise on the 22nd of October and also a cookery demonstrations on the 25th of October. A bring and buy sale was held in aid of Guild funds, thanks to all who supported and donated. Members are reminded to bring their shoe boxes for the November meeting, at which also the Mass will take place for deceased members. The report was given by Anne Cass. Demonstration on different types of icing of cakes and buns was given by Mary Quinlan. Many fancy designs were created. Raffle winner on the evening were Bridie Brennan, Betty Gannon, Statia Wellwood. Competition winners were Margaret Mc Donald, Marie Mc Grath, Celia Cahill. The meeting concluded with supper served by hostesses Bridie Brennan and Bernie Cahill.

GAA Dinner Dance

Club Dinner Dance on Friday, Nov 28 in the Castle Arms Hotel in Durrow, 8pm. Musicby Damien Bowe & a DJ. Tickets €30 from committee member. Special guest Ger Loughnane.

Juvenile GAA

Training will continue through the winter months for all age groups in Heywood gym on Monday evenings at 6pm. Minimum age is 5 years old. Parents must stay during training. Cost €2 per night.

Bingo

Bingo every Monday night in the hall on the square starting at 8.30 pm. Over €1,200 in prizes every week & raffle. More local support appreciated as crowds have dropped.
