LATE DANIEL DELAHUNTY
Sympathy is extended to the wife and family of the late Daniel (Dan) Delahunty,The Square, Rathdowney, on his recent death which took place
at Kilminchy Lodge Nursing Home, Portlaoise. His Funeral Mass took place on Thursday November 6 in the Church of the Holy Trinity, Rathdowney, followed by burial in Bealady Cemetery. The late Dan is deeply regretted by his loving wife Nancy and his family, Alma, Donal, Simon, Carolyn, Anthony and Peter, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, grandchildren, his brother Fr. T.P. Delahunty, his sister Julie (Bergin), sisters-in-law Mairead (Delahunty), Teresa (Delahunty), nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Dan was the local veterinary surgeon and was well known and respected by members of the farming community whom he served for many years.
A Social will take place in Killasmeestia Community Centre on this Friday night November 21 with music by Peter Burke. Dancing will be from 9.30pm to 12.30am and supper will be served.
Borris-in-Ossory ICA guild will hold a Christmas Fair/ Bring and Buy sale in St Canice’s Hall on Saturday evening December 6 after the evening Mass. There will be cakes and home baking on offer, hand knitted articles and crafts, books, bric-a-brac, hand made Christmas cards and Christmass decorations. Please come along and support.

GIRL BAND FOR BORRIS
It is hoped to start an ALL Girl Teenage Band in Borris-in-Ossory Parish in the near future. With this in mind, we are looking for volunteers, those who have very little experience but, must have a keen interest in learning an instrument and singing. We are looking for two from Borris-in-Ossory. two from Killasmeestia and two from Knockaroo. We are hoping to run a Function in Rackett Hall, Roscrea next year where this Group will perform. Sympathy is also extended to Mrs Irene Delaney, Skeirke, Borris-in-Ossory on the death of her brother, the late Fr. Roger Rafter S.C.A. Pallottine Fathers, Thurles, Tipperary and late of Clonmeen, Errill. His remains reposed at the Pallottine College, Thurles until removal to the Community Chapel for Funeral Mass on Wednesday, 5th November. Burial took place in the Pallottine Community Cemetery, Cabra, Thurles. The late Fr. Roger is deeply regretted by his brother Jim, sisters Irene and Sheila, extended family, friends and the Pallottine Community.
Rathdowney Parish is to run a Rainbows Ireland programme beginning in November 2014. Rainbows is a programme of support for children experiencing loss because of family bereavement or due to parental separation/divorce.
