The next meeting for the Rathdowney Book Club is not until Monday September 3 in the library at 8pm. The books for the summer review are The Colour Purple by Alice Walker and Tess of the d’Urberilles by Thomas Hardy.
Charity cycle are marking another date in your diary, pub bingo in O’Reilly’s lounge at 8.30pm Wednesday July 11, great night to be had. All welcome, don’t forget to bring your clipboard and bingo marker. A big thank you to everyone who supported the table quiz, it was a great success. Training cycles taking place most evenings departing the square at 7pm. Don’t forget to keep pedaling, only five weeks left to complete your training.

is now open to all during daylight hours. The opening day was a great success, thank you to everyone who made it possible. A big thank you to everyone who turned out despite the showery weather. There is no hurling allowed on the MUGA pitch as it will damage the surface, other games allowed football, tennis, basketball, frisbee. There will be a blessing of the new playground on Wednesday, July 4 at 7pm, all welcome.

OSSORY CYCLING CLUB
hosted a very successful leg of the Cahill Cycles Inter Club league on Thursday June 28. Cyclists from six clubs took part in the race. Seven OCC cyclists took part in the race and performed very well. They were Willie Alyward, Seamus Kavanagh, Derek Ryan, Aidan Burke, David Hyde, Harry Hoare and John Tynan. The race was very well supported with a great turnout of spectators around the town and on the course. The club would like to express their thanks to all the marshalls who did a wonderful job. OCC is hosting the next leg on Thursday, July 12, starting at 7pm sharp. Best of luck to one of our cyclists Derek Byrne who is taking part in the Leinster championship next Sunday in Bunclody. Training every week as follows, A training Monday evenings at 7mp, B training Tuesday evenings at 7pm, A and B Sunday mornings at 10am. New members always welcome.
