ANNUAL OUTING
The local ladies club are holding their annual outing on Saturday July 7 to Lismore Gardens and Heritage Centre, Waterford City and if the weather is fine to Tramore. Langtons of Kilkenny is the venue for the evening meal. Total cost is €50.
MONTHLY MEETING
The local ladies club held their monthly meeting on Monday week last. Competition winners were Anna M mullins and Catherine Connery. The raffle was won by May Doyle. Weekend away from Friday morning to Sunday on August 17 - 19 to Youghal and touring Cork. All in price €200. More details to follow.

Top score at Newtown whist on Saturday was won by Margaret Brennan, Doonane. 1st lady Mary Doyle. 2nd lady Mary Warren, Hannah Moore and Margaret Kealy. 1st Gent Fr D Murphy, 2nd gent John Doyle. 1st half Seamus Hennessy. 2nd half Willie Murphy. 1st quarter Mary Wheatley 2nd quarter Tommy Murphy. Raffle winners were Margaret Brennan, Mary Quigley, Margaret Kealy and Betty Shore. Whist continues as usual on Saturday.
CRETTYARD GFC
Last week’s winners in the Crettyard Footballers Lotto were R Purcell, c/o Crettyard Childcare, Mary Fleming, Clonbrock, Joan and Annette, c/o Margaret Brennan. The winning numbers were 7-8-17-18.
ROSARY
The rosary is recited at Our Lady’s Shrine, Rossmore, every Sunday at 3pm. All are welcome.
SET DANCING
There will be no set dancing Class on this Thursday. Classes resume on Thursday July 12 as usual.
TOLERTON GFC
The Tolerton GFC 1956-1959 reunion takes place on Friday July 13, commencing with mass in Mayo Church at 7.30pm followed by meal and dance/sing song in the Seven Oaks Hotel, Carlow at 8.15pm. Tickets cost €22.50 each and are available from Mick Burke, 056 4442116.
MAYO CHURCH BICENTENARY
There was a great turnout for the Mayo Church bicentenary service on Sunday June 24. Almost 300 people attended and fortunately the weather held up for this great and joyous event.
