Laois Hospice are looking for people to host coffee mornings or evenings on September 20. If you would like to be a host please contact Mary Delaney at 086 8157280 for supply of coffee. All money collected in Laois are spent on hospice services in Laois.
MOUNTRATH SCOUTS SECTION
Mountrath scouts would like to thank all those who supported them on their recent sponsored cycle. They would like to all the cyclists that cycled from Dublin to Mountrath. Also they would like to thank all the local businesses that donated to this fundraiser. The scouts would like to thank the leaders all the helpers who helped out on this very successful day and to those who cooked the food and megabounce for the castle. A great day was had by all.

Mountrath GAA family fun day took place on Sunday September 2. The club would like to thank everyone and anyone who helped out in any way on the day or those who spent many hours organising and planning the event. Thanks to one and all who made this event possible.
LAOIS HEART SUPPORT GROUP
The monthly meeting of the Laois Heart Support Group will be held on Wednesday September 19 in St Fintan’s Hall at 8pm. All are welcome.
GAA LOTTO RESULTS
The winning numbers in last week’s jackpot were 04,12,17,24. There was no jackpot winner. The jackpot now stands at €12,200.

Adult book club next meeting will take place on Thursday October 8 6.30 - 7.30pm. We will be discussing ‘Tom Crean - An Unsung Hero’ by Michael Smith, copies are available at the library and new members are always welcome.
The knitting club continues to meet every Friday morning 10.30 - 12.30pm ,all welcome.
Application forms for the national MS Readathon, which gets underway in October, are now available in the library.
The sale of homemade jam continues in Costcutters and in Phelan’s shop in Castletown. The proceeds of this goes to the Laois Hospice Portlaoise. Your support is greatly needed. Thanks to all who have supported.
OLD TIME DANCING
Every Sunday night in Portlaoise GAA Centre from 9.30pm to 11.30pm for only €7. Music will be supplied by Pat Conlon this coming Sunday night, September 16.

Meeting every Thursday evening at the car park on Main Street at 7pm.
The outdoor gym in the local amenity park can be used by all ages.

MOUNTRATH GROTTO RESTORATION
The commitee have reorganised the mass in the grotto for this Sunday September 16
at 6.30pm. All parishernors from our town and surrounding areas are invited. Your support would be greatly appreciated. There will be a collection at the gate for the upkeep and continually restoration of the grotto. We would like to thank all those who have helped with this project.
