St Fiacc’s School Reunion will this year marks the 21 year anniversary of the official opening of the school. To mark the occasion there is a very special weekend of reminiscences and memories planned for the June Bank Holiday weekend. Contact Jane Moore or Mary Fleming 9132444 for further details.

CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK

Many events are planned in our schools to celebrate Catholic Schools Week and next weekend our school children from Primary and Secondary schools will participate at our Masses. We focus, especially this year on St Brigid as we make crosses to fundraise for Youth Ministry and all are welcome to journey with us to the St Brigid’s Eve Festival on Jan. 31st at 6.30pm for a pilgrimage of quiet prayer, song and reflection.

BAPTISM

The Parish is offering a Baptism Preparation Evening to all parents seeking Baptism for their child. This meeting will take place once a month in our Parish Centre from 7pm to 8.30pm on Monday 25 February and Monday 25 March.

KILLESHIN FC LOTTO

There was no winner of the recent Lotto Jackpot. The numbers drawn were 02, 06, 07 and 26. The four lucky dip winners were Marie Byrne, Kevin Fitzgerald, Marion Reddy and Eamonn Brennan, each received €25 and the seller’s prize of €25 was won by Darragh McDonald. The Jackpot now stands at €7,900 and tickets can purchased for €2 from any club member or from the local shop and public houses

LOURDES INVALID FUND

The AGM of the Graiguecullen-Killeshin Lourdes Invalid Fund will take place in the Thatch Bar on Wednesday 30 January at 8pm. Cards will be available on the night for the annual draw which will take place on Saturday 16 March.

TABLE QUIZ

Killeshin Soccer Club are holding their Fifth annual table quiz in the Talbot Hotel, Carlow on Thursday 07 February. The quiz starts at 9pm sharp with a table of four costing €40. This night has always been a great success and your continued support is greatly appreciated.

FIRST FRIDAY

This Friday 01 February is the First Friday of the month. There will be the usual penitential service during the 10am Mass in St. Clare’s.

CHOIR MEMBERS WANTED

Killeshin Choir are seeking new members of all ages so anyone interested please speak to any choir member after 10.15 Mass.

COMMUNION TO THE SICK

Frs. John and Brian will bring Holy Communion to the sick and housebound on Tuesday and Wednesday, 05 and 06 February.

COUNTRY MARKET

Graiguecullen Country Market will re-open on Saturday 02 February from 10am to 1pm. It’s located in The Old School Hall, opposite Aldi, in Graiguecullen. They look forward to seeing you all there

COMMUNITY GAMES

ST VALENTINE’S DAY MASS

On Tuesday 14 February we invite all couples to a special Mass in St Clare’s Church at 7.30pm on that day. Any couple who is celebrating a special milestone anniversary this year and would like it celebrated at the Mass are asked to contact the parish office.

Support Group for Parents who lost a baby before, during or after birth, there will be a meeting on Monday 25 February at 8pm in the Parish Centre.INDOOR BOWLS

Graiguecullen & District Indoor Bowls now playing on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2pm to 4pm in St Fiacc’s Hall. All ages welcome.

FEAST OF ST BLAISE

St Blaise is the patron of throat illnesses. Blessing of throats will take place at all Masses next weekend. The Blessing of St Blaise is a sign of our Faith in God’s protection and love for us.

BRIDGE CLUB

SUNDAY READINGS

Anyone who would like to reflect on the Sunday readings is invited to a half hour meeting each Wednesday at 7.30pm in the Parish Centre. A special invitation to all who will be reading the Word of God at Mass on Sunday. This is an opportunity for people to enhance their participation in their celebration of Mass each Sunday.

GRAIGUECULLEN GAA

Graiguecullen Ladies and Juvenile Girls AGM will be held on Friday February 08 in the upstairs meeting room in new building. Parents of juvenile girls are asked to attend the meeting and anyone not involved in the club are also invited to attend Recent Lotto results, numbers drawn were 03, 18, 22 and 29. There was no Jackpot winner so for the next draw, Jackpot €10,000, Reserve €10,000, Second Reserve €5,400. There was one Match 3 winner of €200; Mark c/o Marie O’Rourke. Sellers prize of €20 each went to John Corcoran, Martin Power and Michael Regan.

BRÍDEOG NIGHT OUT
