In the early hours of Monday morning August 19 there was considerable damage done to the flower beds in the green. Several begonia plants were pulled up and damaged others were trampled on. This is the third time this year that the same beds were damaged and one wonders do these mindless vandals have any appreciation of the work out into these beds to make our town look beautiful. Several Dahlia plants in the beds near the roadside in Lawlor’s Gardens were also pulled up, damaged and destroyed other plants were jumped on so as to destroy them also. These vandals are not welcome in Durrow if they continue to damage our lovely flowers.
