Mass of the Angels will be offered in St Canice’s Church on Tuesday night November 5 especially for all young people and babies who have died in the parish and surrounding parishes. On Wednesday, November 6 there will be a Reconciliation Mass with Confessions. On Thursday, November 7 there will be a Mass for all those who died in the parish during the year. There will be a Novena Mass in Killasmeestia on Monday, November 11 at 7.30pm and on Tuesday, November 12 there will be a Novena Mass in Knockaroo, also at 7.30pm. There will be no morning Mass in Borris in Ossory during the Novena except on Saturday morning at 10am.
A special booklet and candles will be available each evening during the Novena. Parishioners are requested to bring along List of deceased relatives and friends and place them in the urn in the Garden of Remembrance near the altar. The adult choir will sing each evening during the Novena.
BORRIS-IN-OSSORY & RUSHALL COURSING CLUB
The A.G.M. took place recently. Secretary Edmund Sheeran in his report highlighted the very successful three day Coursing meeting which took place in November last year in conjunction with Thurles Coursing Club. Chairman Joe Hanrahan thanked every member of the Club for another very busy and successful year; he also thanked the Thurles Club for their help and thanked all land owners on whose land the hares are caught. Plans were made for this year’s coursing fixture which takes place on Thursday 21 and Friday 22 November. Further details will be announced in the coming weeks.

A minute’s silence was observed for all who suffered bereavements during the year.
Hare catching has commenced and will continue each Sunday, meeting at Kirwan’s, Esso at 10.15am. It was great to see quite few new young faces joining the team last year and more are welcome this year. All other members are expected to attend each Sunday.
Borris-in-Ossory ICA guild will hold its monthly meeting on this Wednesday night November 6 in St Canice’s Hall at 8pm. New members welcome.
Members of Borris in Ossory ICA will be filling shoeboxes for the Team Hope Christmas Children’s Shoebox Appeal in St Canice’s Hall on Thursday November 7. Anyone wishing to donate items for the shoeboxes can do so by contacting any ICA member.
Rathdowney Vocational School Class of 1973-78 are holding a Reunion in Rathdowney Golf Club on Saturday 9th November at 8pm. Tickets are available from the Card Stand, Rathdowney or at the door on the night.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place each Tuesday in St Canice’s Church, Borris in Ossory from 10am to 3pm. Adoration takes place in Killasmeestia Church on Thursdays from 9.30am to 3pm and in Knockaroo Church on Tuesdays between 2pm and 4pm.
