Death

The death has occurred on May 24 of Donal Kennedy, Barnderry, Attanagh, Co. Laois who after an illness bravely borne was taken from this life at the young age of 53. He had a great interest in music and loved animals. Donal reposed at his residence at Barnderry until his removal on Monday, May 26 to the Church of the Assumption, Ballyouskill for requiem mass at 12 noon. Burial took place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. He will be sadly missed by his mother Mary, brother Sean, sisters Rita, Mary, Chris and Eileen, brothers in law, nieces, nephews relatives and friends to whom we extend our deepest sympathy.

Museum

Last weekend (May 24) Walter Phelan was delighted to have a visit from the Jaguar Club of Ireland who brought with them twenty five extremely stylish classic jaguars including a model which is one of only two hundred built in 1951.

Ballyouskill Easter Pony Ride

The organisers would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all those who supported this year’s Easter Pony Ride which was in aid of the Heart and Lung Unit at the Mater Hospital, Dublin. €4,030 was raised and the organisers would also like to thank the Wheel Inn landowners who gave permission to use their lands on the day and anyone else who helped out.
