Family Support Fund
The Ciaran Treacy Family Support Fund has been formed by the local communities of Portarlington and Stradbally to support Gillian, Ronan, Sean and Caoimhe during this painful and difficult time for the family after the loss of their beloved Ciaran and to support the family as Gillian is facing a long and arduous road to recovery, following her injuries in the accident. Fundraising events in the next 10 weeks will include: golf classic on August 8 at Portarlington Golf Club, followed by an auction that evening in Portarlington town square. There was a great turnout at Stradbally Lake on Saturday morning last for the launch of a new juvenile angling club. 32 juveniles were presented with rods, reels and nets. Two members from the TAFI gave lessons to all juveniles for two hours. There was ice cream and drinks free to all juveniles with tea and cakes to all mentors. There was an attendance of 150 at the launch. The organisers would like to thank the Lake Board for the use of the lake for the day.
