GAA welcome

This weekend October 24 to 26 O’Dempsey’s and St Conleth’s are playing host to a Scottish GAA Club Coatbridge/Davitts . The club is located ten miles outside Glasgow. There are approximately 46 boys and girls aged 11 to 15 coming from the Scottish club to play Gaelic football. On Friday evening the teams will arrive at the clubhouse where they will be welcomed and introduced to their host families. Families involved in both clubs have come on board and are providing accommodation for the visiting team and their mentors. On Saturday October 25th they will play in a tournament along with some local teams who are also invited. On Saturday night there will be a presentation and disco for the juveniles in the clubhouse starting at 7.pm. Sunday morning players from the senior team will be holding a training session with the visiting team.

Who Wants to be a Thousandair

All roads led to the Heritage Hotel Killenard on Saturday October 4th for “Who wants to be a Thousandair” O’Dempsey’s fundraiser event. There was a huge attendance at the very entertaining show and although no one came away with a €1000 on the night there were some happy contestants who won. O’Dempsey’s would like to thank their main sponsors on the night, Ballybrittas Motors, Portarlington Pharmacy, Campion Insurance, Ashgrove Auctioneers, Powerpoint Engineering and The Heritage Golf and Spa Resort and all the advertisers who supported this event.
