Mayo School: Roisin Hennessy, Aoife Graham, Laura Graham, Katie Patterson, David Brennan Kidd, Conor Mulhall, Shannon Murphy, Shauna Holohan. Ardough School: Diane Snoddy, Eoin Brennan and Andrew Buggy. Newtown School: Daniel Murphy, Rachel Brennan, Chantelle Moriarty, Shona Kelly, Ciaran Finnegan, Sabrina Hennessy, Tara Lawlor, James O’Brien, Matt Kelly, Ryan Shanahan, Brian O’Reilly and Owen O’Connor.

Last weeks winners in the Crettyard Footballers Lotto were Aine Brennan, Newtown, Marguerite Delaney, Newtown Cross and Michelle Fitzsimons, Newtown Cross. The winning numbers were 1-3-9-10.

Top Score at Newtown Whist on Saturday last was won by Elizabeth Coffey. 1st Lady Mary Warren and Ena Wallace. 1st Gent Michael O’Brien 2nd Gent Pat Kennedy. 1st Half Margaret Brennan 2nd Half Betty Conway and Tom Kealy. 1st Quarter Kit Farrell 2nd quarter Eamon Wheatley and Nora Fisher. Raffle winners were Owen Salmon, Margaret Brennan, Betty Shore and Mary Wheatley. Whist continues as usual on Saturday next.

PRIMARY SCHOOLS TaBLE QUIZ

Ballyadams Take Fr. Kennedy Cup - The Fr. Kennedy Cup found a new home after five years as Mayo National School relinquished its hold on it when the final of the Primary school’s table quiz was held recently. The victors were from Ballyadams with Aidan Gleeson, Brendan Murphy, Caoimhe Farrell and Aine Burke (over the hedge squad) defeating the Ballylinan (Is Feidir Linn) team of Donal Kaye, David Bride, Seamus Lacey and Kevin Byrne by two points on a score of 64 points to 62 points with the reigning champions back in 3rd place (The Googlers) from Mayo. 43 teams from 12 schools contested the semi-finals with Dineen Refractories as usual sponsoring the event. Thanks to everyone for the massive turnout and to all who assisted in any way.
