SOUTH EAST LAOIS ARTS NETWORK

A national tour featuring renowned West Kerry singer and musician Seamus Begley and the BBC Radio 2 Folk Musician of the Year 2012, Tim Edey will perform in the wonderful surroundings of Coolanowle House, Ballickmoyler on Friday, April 20. The tour which is targeting local communities in six counties is funded by the Arts Council and organised by Artlands. The concert will be hosted by South East Laois Arts Network. A warm welcome awaits the visitors who will also stay in the area. Doors open at 8pm and concert commences at 8.30 pm Tickets are €10. Special events to mark the 800 Anniversary will take place later this year. Carlow Town Council will host a civic reception in St Clare’s on Saturday April 14. Cardinal Brady will celebrate Mass in St Clare’s on Saturday June 30 and then the celebrations will continue with the Triduum of prayer from August 08 to 10 and conclude with the celebration of the feast day of St Clare on August 11.

RETURN TO WORK OR FURTHER EDUCATION

St Catherine’s Community Services Centre’s preparation for work Course 2012 is due to start on Monday April 16 and is now enrolling. The course will be held in St Catherine’s from Monday to Friday, 9.45am to 1.00 pm and will run for ten weeks until end June. The course is FETAC accredited and includes the following subjects: Work Experience, Personal Effectiveness, and Computers and a work placement.
