ACTIVE RETIREMENT ASSOCIATION
The next meeting will be in the MDA on Wednesday April 18 at 10.30am when we will have a table quiz. The outing to Newbridge and The ARI Trade and Fashion Show in the Citywest Hotel will be on Tuesday April 17.
The special bus leaves the MDA at 9am. There are only a few places left now so if you wish to go on this trip please phone a committee member.
After Easter the usual Boccia sessions in the Macra hall will start again on Monday April 16 at 7.30pm.
The dancing classes resume on Monday April 16 at 3pm. On Tuesdays we go to aqua aerobics in Portlaoise Leisure Centre at noon.
The free bus to this activity leaves the MDA at 11.15am and returns at 1.30pm.
Music and song are in St Vincent’s Hospital on Wednesdays from 6.15pm to 7.45pm.
The art classes continue every Thursday in Wolfe Tone Court from 2pm to 4pm. We hope all had a very happy Easter.
There will be a fundraising meeting on Friday 13 April for all those on the relevant committee.

ROSENALLIS ATHLETICS CLUB
A huge thank you to all those who baked for our cake sale and all those who came along to support us and buy our cakes and breads.
We sincerely appreciate all your support, each and every donation and sale.
Also thanks to everyone who helped out over the 2 days. We raised €511.10 euros which is fantastic. Rosenallis athletics training continues every Thursday from 7pm to 8pm in Johnsgrove Rosenallis.
Football coaching for U8, U10 and U12 continues at 7pm each Tuesday and Thursday during the season. New players are welcome and can register on the night. For details on the club’s juvenile section contact Juvenile Secretary John Allen at 086 3264102.
On Wednesday April 18 an information meeting on drugs and diversion activities will take place in The Rock GAA clubhouse at 8pm. This LLDN (Laois Local Drugs Network) initiative is a joint project in association with Laois GAA, Laois Sports Partnership and Laois Partnership Company.
It targets in particular parents, sports coaches and youth workers but all are welcome. Various speakers from the different groups will address the crowd on the night. Complimentary refreshments are available. Admission is free
The Rock GAA Club 5 mile road race will take place on Sunday April 29. Start time is 11am. Registration is from 10am at the Rock GAA C clubhouse.
There are prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places for men and women. The entry fee is €15 for adults and €10 for under 18’s. For further information contact James Murphy at email@example.com.

U6 and U8 hurling continues in Acragar every Monday at 6.30pm. U10 and U12 follows at 7pm. New players welcome.
U14 football training continues at 5pm on Saturdays in Acragar. Junior hurlers start their league campaign this Saturday v The Harps in Acragar at 5pm. All support appreciated.
Training for all U10 and U12 begins on Monday April 2 at 6pm in Acragar.
New members are very welcome. Further up the age groups club training continues from 16 upwards on Tuesday and Fridays.
SLIEVE BLOOM WALK
April 15. Gerry Hanlon will guide a grade B (10km 4hrs) walk on Wolftrap and Knockacorra. Walkers should meet Gerry at 1pm at Clonaslee community centre.
The parish pilgrimage to Lourdes is from July 17 to 24 staying at the Solitude Hotel costing €770 per person sharing.

Story time and colouring for 4 to7 year olds with Sharon McEvoy is on Thursday April 12 from 4pm to 5pm.
Currently on show in the library gallery is an exhibition by artist Aidan Butler.
His art works titled ‘Excursion’ is broadly based on places in the Midlands. All are welcome.

A film screening of ‘Irish Destiny, War of Independence’ will be shown on Saturday April 14 at 11am.
On Friday May 4, Mountmellick Library will host an ‘Eat a Book Contest’.
