Be very aware of bogus collectors re: household charge. Laois Co Council got tip offs about fraudsters calling to homes this week. The charge is not being collected and if it is they do collect they would have formal ID cards to show house owners. If you have bogus callers contact the gardi on 864-8022 or any member of the committee. Elderly people use your panic button for you monitor alarm as it is monitored 24 hours. Those with peepholes use them, don’t answer your door to any strangers. Please be extra vigilant. We don’t want to see any person being conned by these bogus callers. Never be afraid to press your panic button, all they want is to hear that you are ok.

Please return any outstanding St Stephen’s Day Hospice walk sponsorship cards to Sheila Bourke. Contact her on 087-633-9540.

More people need to get involved as the few involved can’t do it all. Please help out if only keeping your own front free of weeds and swept. Major problem with litter at lunch time, last week was the worse seen in a long time. Students please use bins provided or carry on to the next bin. We invite schools to get involved in Clean Up Laois Week April 16-20th. Win a green flag for your school. Litter pickers will be supplied. We do appreciate that not all students litter but the amount of litter that was collected on Thursday last is not acceptable. Tidy Towns is a voluntary committee that has worked hard and brought Clonaslee very near the top. The committee welcomes all ages to work with them.

We invited individuals and representatives from all groups, organisations and schools to go on a subcommittee to prepare a variety of events to celebrate the Bicentenary of our church 1813-2013. If you are interested in helping to plan these events please leave your name with Fr O’Reilly.
