The Tidy Towns’ efforts are really beginning to show as the village and its approaches now present a neat and tidy appearance. Much work has gone into planting, verge cutting, painting, litter picking and improvements to the centre of the village. Despite adverse weather conditions many have taken part, however the effort must be continued over the next couple of months and more assistance is needed to keep on top of this work and those who have not helped so far are asked to come out a do so.
Attanagh is one of the many villages featured on the South Laois Cycle Trails which were officially launched on Sunday in Durrow by Mr Liam O’Neill, president of the GAA. A colourful, inaugural cycle took place afterwards comprising of young and old cyclists and Attanagh was the first point of note on their route.
