There will be a special bicentenary celebration and re-dedication service on Sunday June 24 at 3pm. The right Reverend Walton Empey will lead the occasion. A book is being printed in honour of this great event.

Last week’s winners in the Crettyard Footballers Lotto were Ann Murphy, Monavea, Francis Fleming, Mayo and Tess Fitzpatrick, Dromagh. The winning numbers were 1-7-24-29.
WHIST
Top score at Newtown whist on Saturday was won by Christy Maher, Doonane. 1st lady Teresa Mulhare and Kathleen mooney. 1st gent Gerry Kealy 2nd gent R Brennan. 1st half Fr D Murphy 2nd half Margaret Kealy. 1st quarter Betty Conway 2nd quarter Mary Quigley. Raffle winners were Ena Wallace, Kathleen Mooney, Nora Fisher, Bob Murphy and Kit Farrell. Whist continues as usual on Saturday.

SET DANCING
Classes continue in Behans of Tolerton on Thursdays commencing at 8.30pm sharp. There will be a ceili on this Friday, June 22, in Oisin House. Music is by Matt Cunningham and the ceili will commence at 9.30pm.
ROSARY
The rosary is recited at Our Lady’s Shrine, Rossmore, every Sunday at 3pm.
SYMPATHY
Sympathy is extended to Michael Moore and family, Monavea, on the death of Michael’s brother, Paddy which occurred recently. Funeral took place to Wolfhill Church and burial was in adjoining cemetery.
SEAN BRENNAN TOURNAMENT
The date has been changed for the Sean Brennan Soccer Tournament. It is now being held on Sunday June 24. As usual it will consist of seven team members, five-a-side with two subs. Closing date for the competition is this Thursday June 21. This year women’s teams are welcome to enter the tournament.
GOLDEN GOAL
Winner of the Golden Goal was Clodagh Whelan.
LADIES CLUB
The local ladies club are holding their annual outing on Saturday July 7.
