GAA LOTTO RESULTS
The winning numbers in last week’s jackpot were 10,15,21,28. there was no jackpot winner. The jackpot now stands at €12,000. the draw will take place Eddie Kirwans on Monday night.
The Parish and Grotto committee would like to apologise that the mass did not go ahead on Sunday last due to unforeseen circumstances. They hope that they can reorganize it at a later date.
EVENING OF PRAYER
Their will be a Evening of Prayer with healing at St. Peter’s 7 Paul’s church Portlaoise on Friday August 31 at 7 pm. It will be led by Eddie Stones, from Emmanuel House Clonfert. All ages are welcome.

Day of Prayer and Healing Service at Emmanuel House of Providence, Clonfert Co Galway led by Eddie Stones and team on Saturday August 25 at 10.30 am. ADULT BOOK CLUB
Next meeting will take place on Thursday Sept 6th 6:30-7:30pm. We will be discussing “The Master” by Colm Toibin, copies are available at the library and new members are always welcome.
The knitting club continues to meet every Friday morning 10:30-12:30pm all welcome

MOUNTRATH GAA CLUB
Mountrath GAA Family Fun Day will be taking place on Sunday September 2 from 1pm-5pm. The Amy Moore Memorial Tournament for all under 8 players will commence at 12-30 sharp. All teams are asked to be in the field at mid-day. Tug of War, Pony Rides, Bouncy Castles, Face Painting, Glamorous Granny, Bonny Baby, Queen for a Day 10yr-18yrs, Barbecue, just to name a few of the activities on the day not to be missed with something there for all the family.
Sponsored cycle will be held Saturday September 8 to raise funds for the annual camp. Local cyclist Martin Phelan will cycle from Dublin to Mountrath. The scouts will meet up with him in Portlaoise and cycle to Mountrath with him where refreshments will be provided. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
HOME MADE JAM
The sale of homemade jam continues in Costcutters and in Phelan’s shop in Castletown. The proceeds of this goes to the Laois Hospice Portlaoise. Your support is greatly needed. Thanks to all who have supported.
OLD TIME DANCING

Various members and volunteers of Mountrath Tidy Towns committee, which is a sub-committee of Mountrath Development Association, will be meeting every Thursday evening at the Car Park on Main Street at 7pm - weather permitting, for a quick tidy up of the town. This usually involves picking up litter and keeping an eye on areas which might need a more thorough cleanup by our local Fás scheme participants. All are welcome to come along for the odd half hour or so from 7:00pm to 8pm.
The outdoor gym in the local amenity park can be used by all ages. We would encourage all local clubs and groups to use this facility.

LATE ANDREW O’BRIEN
Condolences to the family of the late Andrew ‘Andy’ O’Brien of Patrick Street, Mountrath and formerly Fenagh, Co Carlow who passed away on Saturday, August 25 at his home. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Lil, daughter Elizabeth grandson Shane, brothers Tom, Paddy, Billy and Peter as well as extended family and friends. Reposed at his home until removal last Monday to St Fintan’s Church Mountrath. Funeral mass on Tuesday followed by burial in St Fintan’s Cemetery. May he rest in peace.
