Want to clear out the attic or garage? Want to pick up a bargain? Come along to our car boot sale on Sunday November 11 from 10am to 2pm in Ballypickas GAA grounds. Traders set-up from 8.30am. Sellers: cars €5 & vans €10. Adults €2 & children are free. All proceeds go to the running of the club.


The AGM is planned for the weekend ending November 25. It is hoped that there will be a big attendance and all are asked to come along as everyones opinion is valued on how best to keep our great club achieving all its capable of. New members are also welcome.


The monthly meeting of Ballyroan ICA was held on Tuesday October 9 in the Sue Ryder House presided over by Kathleen Scully. Kathleen welcomed our new member Marie Kavanagh to the meeting.

A very positive feedback was given by all members who travelled to Donegal for the annual weekend away in September, also a very enjoyable night was had by all who attended the social evening in the Castle Arms Hotel in Durrow to honour Kathleen Gorman on her election as national secretary.

Pilates classes to commence on Tuesday October 23 and run for six weeks. We had two guests on the night, Alice Bradish who brought along a beautiful array of knitted scarves and gave a demonstration on the knitting of same and Catherine Beale who had a lovely range of crocheted baby clothes.

All shoe boxes for the Team Hope Christmas appeal to be brought to the next meeting. Votes of sympathy were passed to the families of Tom Duff, Timahoe and Peg McMahon, Abbeyleix, recently deceased. Raffle winners were Maureen Troy, Evelyn Mulhall and Peggy Brennan. Supper was served by Maureen Troy and Peggy Brennan.

Next meeting on Tuesday November 13 when the hostesses will be Evelyn Mulhall and Maureen Cahill.
