Cullohill/Durrow Flower and Garden club are holding their Christmas Gala on Monday November 26 at 8pm in the Castle Arms Hotel, Durrow with Sandra Finnegan AOIFE as demonstrator. Admission is €10 euro which include mulled wine and mince pies. All welcome.
A coffee evening, bring and buy and cake sale will be held in the home of Albert and Hilda Bailey, Newtown, Durrow on Saturday November 10 from 3pm till late. There will be a raffle also which includes a prize of a night in Ballymaloe House. All proceeds are going to repair the damaged stained glass windows in Killermogh Church. Please support.

The parish lotto with a jackpot of €3,550 was not won on October 22, small winners were €30 Ann Lanigan, €25 Kieran Fitzpatrick and €20 Jack Fitzpatrick. The lotto of October 29 with a jackpot with a jackpot of €3,700 was not won, small winners were €30 Tom Hogan, €25 Nancy Campion, €20 K Flynn. The lotto of November 12 will be held in Dec’s Bar with a possible jackpot of €4,150. All tickets must be handed in before 9.30pm on the night of the draw to be included in that jackpot.
Following the recent clinic held in Durrow by the Irish Blood Transfusion Service a total of 104 attended including 5 new donors and 9 lapsed donors. Four donors got awards on the night; Gold Award-20 donations; John Bonham, Rathmoyle, Abbeyleix and David Holland, Bunlacken, Cullohill. Silver Awards-10 donations ; Mary Kennedy, Ballyouskill and Martin Kells, Gales Quarter, Cullohill. Thanks to everyone who attended and donated blood
Stars in your eyes
Some of the world’s greatest superstars will take to the stage of the Castle Arms Hotel on Saturday November 24 for the annual ‘Stars in your eyes’ Concert. With doors opening at 8.30pm and the show starting at 9pm, a superb night entertainment is guaranteed. Adm is €10. Monies raise from this event will fund the planting of daffodils and hedging on the Cork and Kilkenny Roads into Durrow.
Planting of hedging and daffodils on the Cork and Kilkenny Roads into Durrow will commence on Saturday November 10 from 9.30am to 12.30pm and 1.30pm to 4pm. Volunteers are needed to help planting and if you have some spare time the Development Forum would very much appreciate your help.
