Clonaslee, Killeigh, Mountmellick and Rosenallis parishes celebrate Resurrection at Easter Dawn Mass in the Festival Field, Rosenallis at 6 am on Sunday March 31. Please have appropriate footwear and clothing. Please co-operate with stewards and follow the designated road signs. Turn off the Rosenallis-Clonaslee road at Corbally L6011. Bring a small container for Easter water.

TABLE QUIZ

The local branch of the Irish Wheelchair Association are hosting the annual Good Friday table quiz in the Clonaslee Community Centre on Friday March 29 at 9 pm. There will be a raffle on the night and light refreshments served. Please come and support this worthy cause.

The Clonaslee College Parents Association easter draw will be held in the Bridge Centre, Tullamore on Saturday March 30 at 3pm. 1st prize: Solid Fuel and Non Perishable Groceries, Value = €400; 2nd prize Coal and Briquettes, Value = €120; 3rd prize One night B&B The Heritage Spa experience at Heritage Golf and Spa Resort; 4th prize Easter Hamper, Value = €80.

CLOTHING COLLECTION

Scoil Bhride’s Parents Association is holding a clothing and textiles collection on Thursday April 4. Anyone wishing to leave bags for collection can drop them in to the school on or before March 22. The school will also be opened on Wednesday April 3 from 7pm-8pm to accommodate anyone who cannot make it before the holidays begin. Other items for donation include handbags, stuffed toys and bed linen and also old mobile phones (placed in a separate bag). Bags can also be left with Chairperson Caroline Mulhall 086-353-2666, Secretary Deirdre Baker 087-612-7084 or PRO Karen Hyland 087-959-4740. We look forward to your support.

CLONASLEE ICA

The last meeting was held on March 13 in the Community Centre. Votes of sympathy to all who were bereaved since our last meeting. Daffodil day was on March 22, thank you to all who supported this worthy cause. Members hope to take part in the choir for the Bicentenary concert for St Manman’s Church on May 24. They will also help to cater for the visiting choirs.

The association plan to hold a cake sale to support Garrett Culliton in his fundraising events. Anne Marie Comerford attended our meeting. All present had a hair do. We also had a demo on how to apply makeup. Thanks to Anne Marie and Caroline. Our AGM is on April 10 at 8 pm in the Community Centre.

BICENTENARY CONCERT

A concert to celebrate Bicentenary of St Manman’s Church Clonaslee is planned for Friday May 24. We have eight different performers, both local and further afield, singing a variety of music on the night. Mark this date in your diaries for a special night of entertainment.
