LADIES FOOTBALL

Training for girls Gaelic Football continues at Burke’s Field, Shannon Rd, Mountrath (200 yards on right after end of footpath). Training every Monday at 5.30pm for all girls aged 5 up to 10 yrs old. We encourage new members to join Mountrath Ladies Football Club. It is a great way to keep fit, have fun and learn a new skill. Subscriptions are €2 per week. STRICTLY Dancing

Mountrath GAA are running strictly come dancing on Friday, October 25 in the Portlaoise Heritage Hotel for the re-development fund for the clubrooms and playing field. 15 couples across the community are taking part in this competition which will be a night of fun filled, family entertainment not to be missed. Late Nora Burke

Condolences to the family of the late Nora Burke (nee Whelan) (Clonin, Mountrath, formerly of Clonad, Portlaoise) who died on August 2, (peacefully). Mother of the late Tommy; deeply regretted by sons Joe & Sean, daughters Mary & Nancy, sister Agnes, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.

Reposing at her daughter’s residence (Nancy Mooney, Fermoyle, Attanagh, Co Laois). Removal to St Edmund’s Church, Castletown for Requiem Mass followed by Burial immediately afterwards to St Fintan’s Cemetery, Mountrath.
