Mrs Bridie Bergin
The death has taken place of Bridie Bergin, Grennan, Attanagh, Co. Laois. After a brief illness she had attained the great age of 87 years. Widow of the late Sean Bergin, Bridie was a dedicated family woman who worked hard and enjoyed life to the full.
She was very active in the local community being a member of the ICA, an avid card player who attended many games in the local towns and villages and took great pleasure in going on outings and excursions near and far. After funeral prayers in her home, removal took place on Thursday evening last (October 17) to the Church of the Assumption, Ballyouskill. Mass was celebrated the following day by Canon Sean Doherty PP, Durrow and Fr Tom Murphy PP, Ballyragget. Deepest sympathy is extended to her daughters, Betty, Mary and Catherine; sons John, Martin and Thomas; sisters Julie, Mary, Kathleen and Claire; sons in law, daughters in law, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.
Mr David Whiteford
The death has occurred of David Whiteford, son of the late William and Rose Whiteford, Attanagh, Co. Laois. After a long illness his passing at the relatively young age of 47 years has evoked widespread sympathy. A welder by trade, David was a hardworking, industrious man and his passing so soon after his parents makes his death a poignant event. Removal took place from Phelan’s Funeral Home to St Fintan’s Church, Durrow on Friday evening (October 18). Service took place the following day with burial afterwards in Attanagh. Deepest sympathy is extended to sons David Jnr and Josh; sisters Beverly, Valerie, Hazel, Siobhan and Annette; brothers Derek, Ian and George; relatives and friends. May he rest in peace.
