Slieve bloom assoc
The association met on Thursday, September 19 in the Heritage Centre, Clonaslee. A minute’s silence was held in memory of Brian Healion’s brother Peter. Matt Barrett was congratulated on organising the successful tour to Clare. Discussions included the problem of people getting lost on the Slieve Blooms - recently members have come to the rescue in the Cadamstown area. Ray Redmond and Gerry Gorman spoke about the proposed 184 metre wind-turbines in the Slieve Bloom area and the negative impact they are likely to have on the views from Slieve Bloom Amenity Area. The night ended with refreshments, welcomed by all. The next meeting is on October 24 at 8.30pm in the Green School, Rosenallis. If you are interested in preserving and promoting Slieve Bloom amenities, do come along, new members welcome.
