This is our last week to mention the Jigs & Reels in aid of Portarlington Community Development Assoc/Love Port and Port Meals on Wheels in the Heritage Hotel Killenard on next Sunday October 27 (Bank Holiday) All money raised will go back into the community by both groups involved. Congratulations to Portarlington Leisure Centre who achieved a gold standard in the White Flag award for excellence. White Flag appreciation night will take place on Tuesday October 29 from 7pm - 9pm. On the night there will be a lifeguard demonstration, presentation, music and finger food. Everyone is welcome to attend on the night to celebrate with the staff.
Portarlington Lions Club would like to thank all the wonderful people who contributed to our bucket collection in Supervalu recently. Your donations are required to maintain much needed important Lions services in the locality.
Portarlington Community Men’s Shed meet on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6pm, at the Alert Forklift and Safety Training Unit at Botley Lane Business Park. Everyone is welcome at the Men’s Shed. Blessing of Graves
Rosary and blessing of the graves will take place on Sunday November 3. Killenard after 10.30am mass. St Michael’s Cemetery Portarlington at 3pm.
Portarlington Christmas Tree committee have commenced their annual door to door collection. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your generous contributions and continuous support, without which there would be no Christmas tree in the town Square over the festive season.
Car Boot Sale
Portarlington GAA club are now holding a car boot sale on the first Saturday of every month at McCann Park. The next sale will be held on Saturday November 2 from 10am to 2pm. To book a pitch for your stall call 086 2712121 or email email@example.com.

Port Youth Club
Are you 12 to 18 years of age? Are you at a loose end on a Wednesday night? Well why not come down to the youth club to see what we get up to. Wednesday at 7.30pm.
Port Arch Club Dancing
Dancing takes place every Monday night in The Gandon Inn, Emo from 9.30. Music October 28 by Brian McDermott, November 4 by Done and Dusted and November 11 by Dermot Lyons. Admission only €5. All welcome.
St Vincent de Paul are holding a fundraising dance in The Gandon Inn, Emo on Friday November 29. Donations for an auction to be held on the night would be greatly appreciated. Local auctioneer Matt Dunne will conduct the auction.
