The big week has finally arrived for all the dancers who have been involved in strictly dancing who have been very busy fitting dance rehearsals into their busy schedules. A lot of hard work is going into the preparation for the big night, so your support is needed. Tickets on sale €20 each in Costcutters, the Cosy Cafe, Centra, Tots & Co Playschool and Lynda Deegan Main Street. The final takes place on Friday, October 25.

Laois community forum awards

Application forms for the 2013 Laois Community Forum Awards are now available and must be in before 5pm on October 31. There are five categories in the group/clubs section while there is also an Unsung Hero Award. Application forms can be downloaded from www.laoiscommunityforum.ie.

PRE CHRISTMAS MARKET

Late Daniel (Danny) Costello, Ballyfin Road, Portlaoise who died on October 12 peacefully in the loving care of the staff and his family at the Dun Aine Hospice Unit at St Vincent’s Hospital, Mountmellick. Beloved husband of the late Ann. Deeply regretted by his loving sons Fergus and Dermot, sisters Sheila, Brid, Eilish and Phyllis, extended family, relatives, neighbours and friends. Reposed at his residence with removal to St Fintan’s Church Ballyfin for requiem mass with burial immediately afterwards in St Fintan’s Cemetery.

Condolences to the family of the late Patrick ‘Paddy’ Brophy of Rushin, Mountrath who died on October 13 in the loving care of Kilminchy Lodge Nursing Home, Portlaoise. Deeply regretted by his relatives neighbours and friends. Reposed at Burke’s Funeral Home, Mountrath. Removal to St Edmund’s Church, Castletow. Burial in St Fintan’s Cemetery, Mountrath.
