Our Under 16’s were most unlucky to lose out in the final of the hurling league to St Josephs/ Barrowhouse in Raheen on Saturday. Despite being reduced to 14 players mid way through the first half we were well in control and leading by 2 points at the break. However as the second half progressed the numerical advantage of our opponents was beginning to take its toll despite an heroic performance by our own young hurlers we eventually lost on a score of 3-13 to 2-10. Well done to all the players and team manager and selectors. Also many thanks to all who came to support the team at the game. We are now looking forward to the championship. Under 6 and Under 8. Our U6 and U8 played Castletown in the Vintage Rally on Sunday last A very competitive day for all boys and girls . All the children were presented with medals after the games. A big thank you to John Lyons, Ger Cuddy and all involved for inviting us to participate. A great day was had by all. With the championships just around the corner, training for all underage teams continues.
