The Parish lotto with a new jackpot of €1,000 was not won on Monday, September 29, small winners were €30 Mary Walsh, Cullohill, €25 The Quinn Family, €20 Paddy O Hara. The lotto of October 13 will be held in O’Connell’s Cullohill with a possible jackpot of €1,300. All tickets must be handed in before 9.30 pm on the night of the draw to be included in that jackpot.
Due to the decline in Church cleaners for reasons of health etc. We urgently need more men and women with one hour to spare per week to come on the Rota. We try to have four in a group, so the more groups we have the less you will be called on during the year. Durrow Bridge Club has resumed on Wednesday October 1 at 7.45 pm in the Presentation Centre. We look forward to meeting all our friends/ players each Wednesday night.

The Irish Motor Neuron Disease Association would like to thank all who contributed so generously to their Annual Church Collection held in Durrow and Cullohill on September 6 and September 7.A total of one thousand, one hundred and ten euro was collected.

Fire Safety Week
Fire Safety Week is from October 6 to October 13 and the Durrow Fire and Rescue Service are holding a Fire Display and demonstration in the Green on Monday night October 13. The display will show and demonstrate all the equipment that the Fire and Rescue Service have in Durrow and other equipment that is available if needed. Station Officer Gearoid Ryan and his team will be at hand to explain and demonstrate each piece of equipment. They will also give useful tips on how to make your home, work place or school a safer place. All are welcome to come along and the green will be lite up by the Fire Service. It starts at 7pm and do come and witness this great show. Please come wearing suitable clothes as it get cold at night very quickly.
Laois water safety will officially launch the Woodenbridge Paddlers new floating pontoon at the Woodenbridge Ballacolla on Sunday, October 12 at 2pm. This will be followed a regatta for all ages (boys and girls) under 10, 14, 18, senior,mothers and fathers. All welcome to come along and participate.Refreshments will be served. In the coming weeks the trees will be knocked voluntarily on the site of the new path. If there is anyone who may be in a position to remove the stumps of the trees please call Fred Townsend (087) 6892323 or any member of the committee as soon as possible.
