Congratulations to Scoil Bhríde past pupils Mark Duggan, Brendan Duggan, and Enda McEvoy who were all part of the Na Fianna team that won the Laois Minor Hurling A Final on Sunday September 28.

SOCIAL SERVICES

Bingo is on Wednesdays from 2 pm to 4 pm in the Heritage Centre. Please come along and have a cuppa and chat. We welcome everyone. It’s a nice way to get out of the house for a couple of hours.

DRAMA

Tullamore Amateur Dramatic Society is performing “When The Gods” joined by Danna Davis performing some well-known cabaret songs in the Clonaslee Heritage Centre on Saturday October 18 at 8:45 pm. Admission €10.

MUSIC CLASSES 

Clonaslee Comhaltas music classes are on Thursdays from 4:15 pm to 8 pm in the Community Centre. Instruments being taught are tin whistle, fiddle, button accordion, piano accordion, flute, banjo and keyboard. Classes cost €6 per week and are open to beginners and advanced, children and adults. All are welcome to join these classes. If you require further information contact John Conway on 085-285-1772.

BABY PARENT AND TODDLER GROUP

Meet on Tuesday mornings from 9:30 am to 11:30 am during the school term in the Community Centre. All welcome. For more information contact Elaine on 087-236-2723.

LINE DANCING

Line dancing at An Sean Chistin, Irey, Ballyfin continues each Tuesday 11 am – 12 noon. All abilities welcome. €5 per lesson. Further details from Maureen on 087-648-2038.

IRISH DANCING

Siobhan Dormer will be attending the Parochial Hall every Tuesday from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm. This is a great way for our youth to learn Irish dancing. All ages and levels welcome.

CIRCUIT TRAINING

Circuit training is on Thursdays from 7-8 pm and Saturdays in the Community Centre from 10 – 11 am. This training is suitable for male or females and caters for all levels of fitness, from beginners to the advances. Cost is €7 and all welcome to join in.

storytelling time

The Slieve Bloom storytelling festival begins in the Slieve Bloom Bar in Kinnitty with a Rambling House session on Wednesday, October 8, followed by a night of story, song and delicious food at Roundwood House on Thursday October 9, and the haunted Leap Castle on Friday 9.
