Irish rugby international Alison Miller will lead off the 13th annual New Year’s Day sponsored walk in Timahoe for the Irish Wheelchair Association (IWA). All funds for the IWA’s Slieve Bloom Centre in Portlaoise. Sponsorship cards available from Johnny Dalton. Contributions welcome on the Day. The event will begin on the village green at 1pm.
THE LATE ALICE (LALLY) DOWLING
The death occurred on Wednesday, December 10 of Alice better known as (Lally) Dowling, 6 Vicarstown Road, Stradbally, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at The Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. Deeply regretted by her loving family sister Rita, brother Tom, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.
Her remains were reposing at The Presentation Chapel, Stradbally on Wednesday until removal to the Sacred Heart Church on Thursday evening and following Requiem Mass on Friday morning her remains were interred l in Oakvale, Cemetery, Stradbally.

CHRISTMAS GOAL MILE

Stradbally Town Soccer club will hold its Christmas draw and party on Tuesday, December 23 in Napper Tandys. Music will be supplied by Brother Jake and draw tickets at €2 each or 3 for €5 are available from all players and committee members.
The Christmas whist will be held in St Patrick’s Hall, Stradbally on Friday, December 19 at 8pm sharp. Top score (cash) and all other prizes are Christmas fare.
