ELECTRIC PICNIC 015 AGM

A reminder that the annual general meeting of the Residents’ Committee will be held in St Mary’s Hall on Tuesday, March 3 commencing at 8pm. All are welcome on the night.

WORLD DAY OF PRAYER

World Day of Prayer will be held on Friday, March 6 in St Patrick’s Church, Stradbally commencing at 8pm. Join us after the service for a cuppa and a chat.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH MEETING

A meeting of the Stradbally Neighbourhood Watch will be held on Thursday, March 5 commencing at 7.30pm in St Mary’s Hall. Would all members please attend.

STRADBALLY FLOWER AND GARDEN CLUB

Stradbally Flower and Garden Club March meeting will be held on March 4 in St Joseph’s Hall, Stradbally at 8pm and guest speaker will be from the Arboretum, Loughlinbridge who will be glad to answer your problems.

After Easter the club are holding flower arranging classes and anyone wishing to attend please give your name to the secretary as soon as possible as places are limited

THE LATE PADDY FITZPATRICK

The death occurred on Sunday, February 15 of Paddy Fitzpatrick, Kyle, Stradbally, in the loving tender care of the management and staff of Droimnin Nursing Home, Stradbally.

He is deeply regretted by his brother Jim, sisters-in-law Teresa and Terry, his nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. His remains were reposing at his residence until removal on Tuesday evening to Saint Michael’s Church, Timahoe and following requiem mass on Wednesday his remains were interred in St Michael’s Cemetery, Timahoe.

TALK ON HEN RESCUE

Karen Rogers from the Laois Hen Rescue group who will give a talk on re-homing caged hens at a meeting in the Mountmellick Development Association on Monday 9 March at 7.30pm. All welcome along.

THE LATE BILL WHELAN

The death occurred on Sunday, February 15 of Bill Whelan, Corrigeen, Stradbally. William (Bill), beloved husband of Rita and dearly loved father to Anne, Seamus and Ray.

Deeply regretted by his loving family, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, neighbours relatives and friends.

His remains were reposing at his residence until removal on Monday evening to the Church of the Assumption, The Heath and following requiem mass on Tuesday, interment took place in the adjoining church yard.

STRADBALLY JUVENILE ANGLING CLUB AGM

Stradbally Juvenile Angling Club will hold a meeting on March 9 to sort out outings for 2015 and Insurance.

STRADBALLY DISTRICT ANGLERS

The annual general meeting of the Stradbally & District Anglers will be held on Monday, March 2 in St Mary’s Hall commencing at 8pm. All members to attend and new members welcome.

PARISH MISSION STRADBALLY

The Parish Mission in the Church of the Sacred Heart will be held from Saturday, March 21 to Friday, March 27 directed by the Vincentian Fathers. A ‘Come & See’ parish mission launch will be held on Saturday, March 21 at 6.30pm mass.

COMMUNITY GAMES 2015

Most talent competitions are now u-14 and u-16.

Anyone interested in recitation, drama, music or singing, please call 086 7988855.

Handwriting is now u-10 and u-12 with the area final taking place in St Colman’s Hall at 3.15pm on Friday, February 27.
