Lotto

The Parish lotto with a jackpot of 1,300 euro was not won. Winner of 30 euro Mary Walsh, Cullohill, 25 euro Sean Conroy, and 20 euro Kay Kearney. The Lotto of Bank Holiday weekend will be held on May 11 in Durrow Inn with a possible jackpot of 1,450 euro. All tickets must be handed in before 9.30 pm on the night of the draw to be included in that jackpot.

Fishing

Durrow/Cullohill Parish Anglers Held a Pike Fishing Competition for the Harold Lawlor Cup on Sunday, the winner was Seanie Delehunty, 2nd Tommy Coffey and 3rd Pat Dunphy. On May 31 there will be a pike fishing competition for the C. J. Finnegan Memorial Cup. All members will receive text alerts about each competition in the week prior to the event.

YOUNG VOICE OF LAOIS

The competition has been postponed and the committee will announce a new date in the coming weeks. To register your interest in taking part please contact info@durrow.ie by email.

The April Monthly Whist Drive for Killermogh Parishes was held in the Parochial Hall on Thursday night.

Peace in Christ

The Durrow/Cullohill Parish was very well represented at Parish evening in Peace in Christ with forty eight attending. We had a great evening of Prayer and Encouragement. We are sorry to see the house closing in June and we wish the Nuns, staff all the best and we thank them for all their years of great work.

Mill Family Resource Centre

Fun day: This year our fun day is on Sunday the 12th July from 2-5pm. More details will follow.

Enrolment of new pupils for year September 2015 to St. Tighearnachs Primary School, Cullohill is now taking place. Please call to the school office between 9.30 am and 1 pm to get enrolment forms or ring the school at 05787-37281

DURROW COMMUNITY COUNCIL:

Congratulations to all those who walk, cycled or jogged in the family event on Sunday, 3rd May. The eager participants left from Square, Durrow and went through Castlewood Farm (where sponsored refreshments were provided and gratefully received). Thanks was expressed to all those who supported this most worthy cause!

1916 Commemoration

Plans are underway for the commemoration next year of the 100th Anniversary of the 1916 Easter Rising in Laois. Laois County Council is asking the public around the county to submit ideas and plans for how the anniversary should be commemorated.
