A major clean up of Rosenallis cemetery is being undertaken by the newly formed cemetery committee. Watering cans and rubbish bins have been provided, please use bins for green waste only (no stones or chippings).
Some graves are in need of maintaince and if anyone has any objection to these graves been cleaned up by committee members for cemetery Sunday please ring Marie 086-3907894 before Friday 17th July. Cemetery Sunday is on 26th July.

As part of Ballyfin Trad Fest there will be dance workshops as follows, Wed.July 29th, traditional step dancing, this is an opportunity to learn one of our most famous dances Madam Bonaparte. Fri 31st it’s sean-nós and brush dancing.Both workshops take place in An Sean Chistin, Irey, Ballyfin from 11am-4pm. On Saturday it’s set dancing in the Community Centre Ballyfin from 11-4pm also. Rambling House Festival
A week of festivities is planned at An Sean Chistin,Irey,Ballyfin,at the end of July. On Tuesday July 28th, 8pm, Open House welcomes all who would like to sing, dance, play music, recite a poem or tell a story or just sit back and enjoy the proceedings. Special guest will be All Ireland Champion accordionist Sam O’Doherty, whose mother was a proud Ballyfin woman. Thursday July 30th, 8pm, is ‘Laois Matters’ a showcase of the people of Laois in music, song and dance with many All Ireland champions fromLaois in attendance. It’s also an occasion to introduce newly composed song or poems about Laois, or to rejuvinate some that have been forgotten, so put on the thinking caps and come along on the night and share it. There will be a final Rambling House Session in the Community Centre,Ballyfin on Sunday August 2 at 7pm, when there will be an opportunity to hear visitors and locals share their talents. William Edmundson Homecoming
The William Edmundson Homecoming festival takes place from July 21 to 27, packed with tours, lectures, exhibitions and entertainment to mark the Rosenallis resident who brought Quakerism to Ireland and parts of America.
On Sunday July 26 at 1,30pm there is a Commemoration Ceremony at the Friend’s Bural Ground in Rosenallis, followed by a barbecue in the community hall at 2.30pm.
