DRAMA SUMMER CAMP
Clodiagh Players summer camp is from Monday July 20 to Friday July 31 and runs daily. There will be a show case night on July 31 to show off all the students’ hard work! Work continues on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting from the Heritage Centre at 6 pm. Please sweep early and keep everywhere clean and tidy as judging is in progress.

It’s that time of year again when An Sean Chistin, Rambling House, Irey, Ballyfin, will host a festival of events. Tuesday July 28 at 8pm an Open House, a night of music, song, dance, poems and stories with special guest Sam O’Doherty, accordionist. Thursday July 30 Laois Matters occasion at 8pm when we celebrate the people of Laois with many All Ireland champions from our native county entertaining. This is also an opportunity to introduce newly composed songs, poems etc. about Co. Laois so get the thinking caps on. As part of Ballyfin Trad Fest there will be dance workshops as follows; Wednesday July 29 there will be an opportunity to learn one of our famous traditional step dances Madam Bonaparte and on Friday July 31 it will be Sean-Nós and brush dancing. Both will be from 11am-4pm at An Sean Chistin. Saturday August 1 it will be set dancing in Community Centre, Ballyfin from 10.30am-4pm. All workshops suitable for all ages and abilities.
