BLESSING OF PETS

To coincide with the Feast of St Francis, Patron Saint of animals, birds and all pets, there will be a special blessing of pets on Thursday October 4 at 6pm at the parish centre.

POSITIVE AGEING WEEK 

Runs from Friday September 28 to Friday October 5. To celebrate this, Carlow County Development Partnership will be hosting afternoon tea on Thursday October 4 in Graiguecullen Parish Centre, from 2pm to 4pm. Phone Valerie on 059 9720733.

CHRISTMAS SHOE BOX APPEAL

Boxes can be left at Callinan’s Food Store. Information leaflets available in the parish centre and Callinan’s shop. Contact Bella at 059 9131494 or 8414891. Boxes need to be ready by November 11.

NEW BOOK LAUNCH

Fr Liam Lawton has just published a new book, ‘Where God Hides’.    Fr Liam will sign copies of his new book after Mass at Saturday October 6 at the parish centre. 

KILLESHIN FC LOTTO

There was no winner. Four lucky dips of €25 each were won by Lauren Nolan, Paddy Dowling, John Fitzpatrick and Julie Farrell. The seller’s prize of €25 was won by Tiernan Deane. Next jackpot €6,200.

TEXAS HOLD’EM

Killeshin FC is running a Texas Hold’em poker night in the Glenside Lounge on Friday October 12. Registration takes place at 8pm and costs €20.

The AGM will be held on Thursday 18 October at 8pm in the parish centre. The new parish finance committee will be elected at this meeting also.

TIDY TOWNS

Congratulations to Gerard Ralph and St Fiacc’s House on winning first prize in Tidy Towns Industrial Premises, Garages and Residential Homes Category and were also overall winners of the Perpetual Cup.

FAMILY MASS

A special family mass will be celebrated in St Clare’s on the first Sunday of each month at 11.30am.

DONATIONS REQUIRED

NCBI Charity Shop, urgently require donations. The shop is open Monday to Saturday 9.30 to 5.30. 

KILLESHIN SCHOOL CALENDAR 

Now on sale at the school and in Killeshin stores. All proceeds go towards providing additional equipment for our new school, so your support will be greatly appreciated.

A course for young readers has commenced on Monday night from 7 to 8pm in Parish Centre and will run for four Monday nights.

RAINBOWS GROUP

Graiguecullen/ Killeshin Parish Rainbows Group is offering a 14 week peer support programme for young people who have experienced loss through the death of a close relative, separation or other painful change in their family. For further information contact Anne at 0876636499.

The numbers drawn in the recent lotto were 01, 02, 13 and 23.
