Spink Hall
The official re-opening of Spink community hall took place on Tuesday April 16. After spending €90,000 on the re-furbishment which was grant aided by Laois Partnership and the local parish council the hall is now very comfortable and complies with all of the modern health, safety and fire regulations. Spink Community Development Association have leased the hall from the parish for five years and will oversee the maintenance and running costs. A large crowd gathered for the re-opening and to see Fr Sean Conlon PP cutting the ribbon. Representatives from Laois Partnership, Ballinakill Parish Council, local organisations and contractors attended. To finish off the evening refreshments were served.
Recent Death
The death took place of Patricia Mansfield in a Dublin nursing home recently. Formally from Lowhill, Ballinakill Patricia was the wife of the late Peter Mansfield. She is survived by her three daughters. She was interred in Ballyouskill Cemetery.
