Clough ICA
The AGM of Clough ICA was held on Thursday April 11. There was a good attendance. Betty Gorman attended for election of officers. A vote of Sympathy was passed with Nolan Family, Moynan Family, Cleere and Finnane families, Campion Family, and Gorman Family on their recent sad berevements. Members will attend Federation Meeting in Camross. The guild outing was discussed more details at next meeting, Election of Officers took place - President Noreen Byrne, Vice President Maura McEvoy, Secretary Maureen Dobbyn, Treasurer Kathleen Walsh, Ass Secretary Mary Dunne, Ass Treasurer Kitty Hogan. The president, secretary and treasurer gave annual reports. Comp winners were Kathleen Walsh, Mary Dunne. Raffle Winners were Maura McEvoy, Sheila Coonan, Nora Hyland, Breda Whelan. Next Meeting on May 9.
Hawthorn Centre
The AGM of Hawthorn Community Centre was held recently. Chairman James Kells welcomed everyone and thanked all who have helped in getting the centre finished and paid for. He said it is there for everone to use it. Elected for coming year were Chairman Declan Byrne, Vice Chairman Michael Broderick, Secretary Noreen Byrne, Assistant Secretary Michael Gorman, Treasurers Clifford Roe, Matty Doyle. Declan Byrne thanked James Kellls for all his work while the building was being built also outgoing Treasurer Val Mc Cartney was thanked for all his work.
Ossory Show
Ossory Agriculture show will be held on Sunday July 28 at the Showgrounds on Mountrath road Rathdowney. The following classes are sheep, horses, cattle, poultry, crafts, baking, knitting, sewing, eggs, jams, flowers, flower arranging, photography, dog show. Something to suit everyone on the day.
